Within the International Conference on Model-Driven Engineering and Software Development - MODELSWARD 2014

CO-CHAIRS

Carlos Agostinho
Universidade Nova de Lisboa, UNINOVA
Portugal

Brief Bio
Carlos Agostinho is a Senior Researcher at UNINOVA center, he has an MsC in Computer Science and holds a PhD in the area of industrial information systems by the Faculty of Science and Technology of the NOVA University of Lisbon (FCT/UNL). He is deeply involved in the areas of Product and Process Meta-modeling, Interoperability and Harmonization using Standards since his participation in projects like CEN/AIDIMA/2002/004 funSTEP AP-DIS and IST-2001-52224 SMART-fm. He is quite experienced in research and coordination activities due to his work in several national and international research and development projects in UNINOVA since 2001, where he developed skills in the areas of model-based and semantic interoperability applying MDA/MDI technologies.
Ricardo Jardim-Gonçalves
Universidade Nova de Lisboa, UNINOVA
Portugal

Brief Bio
Ricardo Jardim-Gonçalves holds a PhD degree in Industrial Information Systems from the NOVA University of Lisbon. He is Assistant Professor at the NOVA University of Lisbon, Faculty of Sciences and Technology, and Senior Researcher at UNINOVA institute. He graduated in Computer Science, with an MSc in Operational Research and Systems Engineering. His research activities have focused on Standard-based Intelligent Integration Frameworks for Interoperability, covering architectures, methodologies and toolkits to support improved development, harmonisation and implementation of systems and applications for data exchange in industry, from design to e-business. He has been a technical international project leader for more than 15 years, with more than 70 papers published in conferences, journals and books. He is a project leader in ISO TC184/SC4.
Guy Doumeingts

Brief Bio
Emeritus Professor of the University Bordeaux 1 (FR) and also the General Manager of INTEROP-VLAB. He is a specialist in the domain of BPM (Business Process Management) and Enterprise Modelling (EM), and one of the inventors of the GRAI Methodology which is recognised as the alone BPM methodology for enterprise decisional structure. He has managed more than twenty important projects during the last twenty years in the domain of CIM (Computer Integrated Manufacturing), Enterprise Interoperability, Enterprise Modelling: (PIRELLI, BRITISH AEROSPACE, IBERIA, SIEMENS, SCANIA, AEROSPATIALE, ALCATEL, SNECMA, SCHLUMBERGER, LYONNAISE DES EAUX, but also several SMEs …). He has published more than 200 articles and five books. He is the former president of the Technical Committee N°5 "Information Technology Applications" of IFIP (International Federation for Information Processing), and is member of the editorial Board of four International Journals.

SCOPE

Scope: Based on systems engineering principles, modeling is seen as a central activity for the development and life cycle of a product, system, and more recently product-service systems (PSS). Hence, supporting the servitization of manufacturing, modeling and interoperability are becoming of utmost importance to ensure coherence among conceptual design phases at organizational levels down to technology development. To address this issue, the approach followed along the MSEE project (www.msee-ip.eu/) applies MDA/MDI principles to model the service product, the service system, and to guide the transformation from business requirements into detailed specifications of components that must be implemented to support the servitization process. The goal of this session is to present that and other different approaches, discussing advances on MDSE such as architectures, tools, etc., able to support manufacturing servitization.

This session encourages the sharing of results, expecting papers with the main results from the European Commission MSEE integrated project (www.msee-ip.eu/) and other similar initiatives.

Main Topics:
•Model Driven Service Engineering
•Frameworks for Model-Driven Service Development
•Servitization
•Service Modeling and Meta-Modeling
•Model Driven Interoperability
•Architectures and Semantics for Model Transformations
•Product-service Systems (PSS)
