Within the International Conference on Model-Driven Engineering and Software Development - MODELSWARD 2013


Software adaptation is one of the crucial issues in system integration. Software adaptation is needed in a number of situations, ranging from the need of overcoming various types of mismatches across applications developed by different parties, of customising existing services to different types of clients, or of adapting legacy systems to meet new business demands. Since the practice of manual software adaptation is both expensive and error-prone, various methodologies have been developed in recent years to lift software adaptation from hand-crafting to an engineered activity.
The scope of this special session of MODELSWARD is to provide a forum to discuss recent advances and promising perspectives in model-driven software adaptation. We invite contributions embracing one or more of the dimensions of software adaptation: From the different types of mismatches to be solved (e.g., signature, protocol, QoS mismatches), to the type of featured adaptation (static vs. dynamic, single-layer vs. cross-layer, semi-automated vs. automated), to the type of implementation techniques employed to achieve the adaptation (e.g., connectors, adapters, aspect-oriented programming). Each contribution should try to highlight the advantages of employing model-driven techniques to guarantee properties of the obtained adaptation. Contributions on the application of model-driven adaptation to services and to the cloud will be especially welcome.

Paper Submission
Authors are invited to submit 4-10 page papers discussing ongoing work, recent advances and promising perspectives in model-driven software adaptation.
Papers should be submitted electronically via the web-based submission system at: following the Guidelines and Templates available.
Please note that a "double-blind" paper evaluation method will be used.
To facilitate that, Authors are kindly requested to avoid including references to any of the authors.
This means that authors personal details and acknowledgements should not be included, nor any other reference that may disclose the authors identity.
All accepted papers will be published in a special section of the conference proceedings book - under an ISBN reference and on CD-ROM support - and submitted for indexation by Thomson Reuters Conference Proceedings Citation Index (ISI), INSPEC, DBLP, EI (Elsevier Index) and Scopus.
